Mae’r perfformiad hwn gan Ensemble Birmingham ar gyfer Ymchwil Electroacwsteg (BEER), wedi ei greu mewn cydweithrediad â’r prosiect Art@CMS in CERN yn y Swistir, ac yn ymwneud â chreu seiniau allan o ffrydiau data o’r Gwrthdrawydd Mawr Hadron, y cyflymydd gronynnau mwyaf yn ei faint a chymhlethdod yn y byd. Daw data arbrofol sy’n cynnwys cliwiau tuag at ‘ffiseg newydd’ yn ddeunydd crai ar gyfer cerddoriaeth wedi ei fyrfyfyrio a delweddau wedi eu rhaglennu gan yr ensemble gyda’r bwriad o gael canlyniad sydd er yn ddeniadol, hefyd yn ystyrlon yn gerddorol a gwyddonol. Bydd darnau eraill hefyd gan artist sain leol Jo Thomas a darnau yn deillio o alwad am sgorau.

This performance by the Birmingham Ensemble for Electroacoustic Research (BEER), created in collaboration with the Art@CMS project at CERN in Switzerland, involves the real-time sonification of data streams from the Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest and most complex particle accelerator. Experimental data containing clues towards possible ‘new physics’ becomes the raw material for improvised music and visualisations programmed by the ensemble with an aim to creating a result that while beautiful, is both musically and scientifically meaningful. Other pieces compliment the programme from local sound artist Jo Thomas and pieces from a call for scores.
