Tuesday 27th March 6.45 pm
This workshop/performance session exploring the nature and practice of improvisation in music through the playing of the music in one-minute durations and sharing our experiences. It can be, and one may anticipate this: fun.
Audience: members of the public are invited to attend.
All levels of ability and experience are welcome.
The format for this special session is:
- A series of improvisations, musical presentation lasting one minute.
- A series of one-minute interludes or intervals that maybe in `tacet mode` or may include micro performances e.g haiku poetry.
- There will be two session or cycles of the playing and interludes, time will be made available for those present to discuss their thoughts, actions, and experience.
- There is a break of 15 minutes at the midway point.
`60 seconds in March` is a special session. It is based on, but will not follow absolutely
the outline present at the improvisers network site called `just a minute` - URL LINK
The future design and content of the Jigsaw events will be shaped by those who are involved, attend the sessions and share their feedback, thus the future sessions may include workshop type strategies, scores. This session is a case in point: It was suggested by Clayton Jackson
