Liverpool: Alien Sound Ambient Music and the Limits of the Human Feb 9th

Alien Sound Ambient Music and the Limits of the Human

9 February 2019 at 10.30–16.30

Explore new and creative developments in ambient music and sound art

Artists and theorists will open up new possibilities for thinking and practising a different relationship to noise and music. Join in with talks, interviews and discussions.

The symposium will investigate constructive ways of understanding and producing this disturbing ambience. It will ask: how can we hear ambience differently? How can it make us strange to ourselves again? How can this ‘alien sound’ generate alternative ways of experiencing space, time and world?

Guest Artists include Marie Thompson, Paul Reket, Dhanveer Singh Brar, Larne Abse Gogarty, Steve Davismoon, Rachael Rosen, Jon Davies, Annalaura Alifuoco and Silvia Battista.

In partnership with the Department of Drama and Performing Arts at Liverpool Hope University.
